The Board of Directors for Windfern Forest Utility District (Windfern Forest UD) would like to pass along the Best Trash collection update posted this week.
UPDATE 7/15/2024
Routes are running as scheduled with collection of household waste and grass clippings only. It is helpful and encouraged, but not required, to have grass clippings in clear bags or the brown paper bags so we can determine that it is not storm debris. Please try to put household trash in white bags to clearly distinguish from storm debris. These suggestions are to help the crew but is not required. Please try to make every effort to separate the storm debris from your regular household waste and grass clippings. Please note that cleaning your yard after the storm is considered storm debris and will need to be separated from your regular trash.
Please be patient as we are working hard to get through each day. Due to the increased amount of food waste and more trips to the landfill, the service times may vary.
Storm Debris:
Best Trash extends sympathy for all of those affected by the storm. We understand that this is a catastrophic event. It is encouraged to contact your Precinct or County to see when storm debris collection will happen. Please note that storm debris is not part of the normal heavy trash collection for Best Trash. Our main focus will be to collect household trash. Please ensure that the storm debris is separate from your regular trash to avoid any confusion.
That said, the Board of Directors is working with Best Trash to coordinate a special, out-of-contract truck route to pick up storm debris. There is currently a delay in getting trucks out for this specialized route to collect debris, so stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, reach out to Precinct One for storm debris removal, as outlined in the related District website update.
